Overview
The Design Tech Hybrid Open House will provide admitted students an overview of the multicollege Department of Design Tech and in-depth information about the Master of Science in Design Technology program. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet the Design Tech faculty, current students, and Department Chair Jenny Sabin. The day will include a presentation and an open Q&A session with faculty and students. Those able to join us in person will also have opportunities for guided tours of our material fabrication shop and facilities, research labs, the Cornell University Ithaca campus, and informal conversations with our faculty and graduate students.

Transportation
Getting to Ithaca
By plane: Tompkins County is served by US Airways, Delta, and United flights to and from major cities throughout the country. The Syracuse International Airport is an hour and a quarter drive from Ithaca.
By bus or train: Cornell’s Campus-to-Campus Bus Service runs from New York City to Ithaca. Ithaca is served by the Greyhound, Trailways, and ShortLine bus systems. Visitors can reach the campus from the bus depot by taxi or the Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit (TCAT) bus service. (Many bus routes make campus stops.) The nearest Amtrak connection point is Syracuse.
By car from the New England area: Take the New York State Thruway (Interstate 87/90) west to exit 25A. Interstate 88 southwest to Bainbridge, Route 206 west to Whitney Point, and Route 79 west to Ithaca.
By car from New York City: Take either the Holland or Lincoln tunnel to Interstate 280 west to Interstate 80 west to Interstate 380 north to Interstate 81 north to the Whitney Point exit. Follow Route 79 to Ithaca. Or you can take the George Washington Bridge to Interstate 80 West and follow the directions above.
By car from the west: Take the New York State Thruway (Interstate 90) east to exit 42 (Geneva) and Route 96 South to Ithaca, or take the New York State Thruway East to exit 41 (Waterloo) and Route 89 South to Ithaca.

Studio Professional Track at Cornell Tech, Informational Webinars, and Admitted Students Day
In addition to Design Tech Hybrid Open House hosted at AAP for all admitted students, the students admitted to the M.S. DT Studio Professional Track may also participate in the following informational webinars held by Cornell Tech:

In addition to those virtual events, on Friday, April 10, at 1:00 p.m. EST, Cornell Tech will host the in-person Admitted Student Day event at the Cornell Tech Campus – Bloomberg Center, 2 W Loop Rd, New York, NY. Students admitted into the Studio Professional Track that choose to attend this event will be able to meet Cornell Tech Faculty and Staff and learn more about Cornell Tech academic programs; discover the support services, student clubs, and resources available to you; interact with current students and get a taste of campus life; explore the facilities and campus spaces, including housing facilities; and experience a mock class and get a sense of the multidisciplinary curriculum.
How to get to Cornell Tech
Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) – Bus, subway, and commuter rail options serving the New York City metro area.
NJ TRANSIT – Bus, train, and light rail service between New Jersey and New York City.
New York City Ferry – Offering service to the Cornell Tech campus on Roosevelt Island as well as parts of Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn.
Roosevelt Island Tramway – Fast, convenient service between Roosevelt Island and Manhattan.
